Rules
In order to maintain the safety of all attendees and provide the most benefit to all, we must have and enforce a few rules. PCYC rules are:
- Attendance & Participation:
- Every camper must follow the camp schedule. Attendance at classes, devotionals and recreational activities is required unless excused by the camp director.
- Campers are not permitted to leave the camp with anyone other than their parent or legal guardian without express permission from the camp director. Parents picking their children up early must notify the camp administrator prior to departure with the child.
- Campers must stay with the group to which they are assigned. When at local parks, campers may not go to the restrooms alone. We use a buddy system. Younger campers must be escorted to the restroom by older campers or adult staff.
- Behavior & Respect Towards Others:
- Campers are expected to act in a Christian manner at all times, showing courtesy and respect to other campers and to camp staff.
- Foul language is inappropriate to the Christian environment and will not be tolerated.
- Fighting and/or other violent actions will not be tolerated.
- Defacing/destruction of church and public property or wildlife is prohibited.
- Medical Conditions & Drug Use:
- Tobacco, alcohol and all other drugs are not permitted at camp, excepting drugs legally prescribed by a physician.
- Prescription drugs needed at camp must be checked with the camp administrator in the morning. Written directions for administering prescription drugs must be provided and signed by the camper's parent or legal guardian.
- The camp staff must be made aware of any illnesses, allergies (to include food allergies), or other disabilities that may prevent the camper from participating in any activity. A medical and emergency contact form must be completed upon drop off the first day in order for your child to stay at the camp.
- Camp Attire: All clothing must be modest and appropriate to the Christian environment. No sleeveless shirts, spaghetti straps, open midriffs, or excessively tight clothing. Clothing must cover undergarments. All clothing must be knee length or longer. Shirts must be worn at all times. Swimware may be worn under clothing for water-based activities. These rules apply equally to boys and girls.
- Electronics Use: The purpose of camp is to participate and interact with others. Accordingly, cell phones and iPods/MP3 players are permitted for infrequent use only. These devices must be silenced completely during devotionals and Bible classes. All other times phones must be left in vibrate mode. Non-participation and/or non-interaction with other campers due to excessive use of a device will result in the device being confiscated for the remainder of the day. Cameras are also permitted. All other electronic devices should be left at home or may be checked with the camp administrator and retrieved at the end of the day. The camp will not be responsible for the loss of electronic devices.
- Other:
- Campers are not to possess guns, hatchets, knives or any other weapon at camp at any time.
- Campers are not to bring pets to camp. Pets serve as a distraction, and some children are allergic to various pets.
The director and his staff reserve the right to send any person home if, in their opinion, this action is deemed necessary for the health and safety of the individual or the rest of those attending camp.
