  • Michael Morris, son of Pam and Tom Morris, continuing recovery.
  • Bob White, continuing illness and severe arthritis.
  • Erica Regester, cousin of the Roby's and Sarah Carr, Leukemia.
  • Sandy Desrochers, Lisa Moser's mother, is struggling with spreading cancer.
  • John Detwiler, continuing illness.
  • Jeanne Sessions, Laura Tinnel's sister-in-law, continuing illness.
  • Marilyn Pingle, a good friend of Pam's and a sister-in-Christ, stomach cancer.
  • Courtney Marcellin, a local high school senior has bone cancer.
  • McKenzie Rice, neighbor of the Taylor's, Leukemia.
  • Helen Kittinger, John Kittinger's mother, constant pain in mouth.
  • Bob and Carolyn Clark, member at Great Falls, both with recent surgery.
  • Joe and Bonnie Ruiz, friends of the Lockharts, lost their son in a swimming accident during a mission trip to Dominican Republic.

Those who are away or traveling:

  • Many of our soldiers, sailors, and airmen are overseas in harm's way.

Building Update
WE'VE BROKEN GROUND!!! We held our official "ground breaking" ceremony on our property on Sunday January 13. Information on the groundbreaking and a video of the ceremony may be found here. Please visit our photo album to see the progress.

Common Meal: May 18
Sunday May 18 is our next scheduled common meal day. We will hold it concurrent with our gospel meeting. Our evening service will be at 6:30pm, rather than our normal schedule of having our second service on common meal day at 1:30pm.

Gospel Meeting: May 18-21
Our spring Gospel Meeting is right around the corner! If you haven't done so already, please make plans now to attend. Tom Bright, director of the Online Academy of Biblical Studies (OABS), will be our speaker.

Baby Shower: June 1
All ladies are invited to attend a brunch/ baby shower for Chris and John Kittinger on Sunday June 1st immediately following services. More information is forthcoming.

Vacation Bible School: June 14
VBS will be held on Saturday, June 14 from 9am to noon. Our theme is "Building Up God's House". Please mark your calendars and plan to bring your children and their friends. Joel has posted a sign up sheet in the back of the auditorium. Please consider helping out in any way you can to make this year's VBS a big success!

Purcellville Bible Camp: July 7-9
The youth group from the church of Christ in Arab, AL is planning to come back this year and host another Bible camp for our youth. Please mark your calendars and plan to bring your children. Please also be thinking of what you can do to help make this special event successful. As in the past, we will need to provide housing as well as some meals to help keep their costs down. The group of about 15 youth, will arrive on Thursday, July 3 and depart on Thursday, July 10.

Gospel Meeting: September 7-10
Our 2008 fall Gospel meeting will be held September 7-10 with speaker Harrell Davidson. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend!

Past Events

Dyersburg Lectureship: April 17-20
Four couples traveled together to attend the annual lectureship in Dyersburg on April 17-20. The theme this year was "The Restoration Movement". Lance and his father both spoke there. If you missed this lectureship, you missed something very special. The lessons are available in both audio and video format on the OABS web site. Please thank Lance and Renee for their efforts in coordinating this activity.

Youth Group Activity: April 13
The youth (and young at heart) went to see the Ringling Brothers circus Sunday, April 13. It was great fun. Everyone please thank Lance and Renee for their work in organizing this fun activity.

Women's Retreat: November 2-3, 2007
The ladies held a women's retreat November 2-3 in Massanutten, VA. The theme was, "Let Sisterly Love Continue". The women had a wonderful time of fellowship and Bible study. A copy of the Bible materials are posted HERE.

2007 Purcellville Bible Camp: July 9-11, 2007
We wish to extend a very warm and special thank you to the youth group and adults from the Arab, Alabama congregation for planning and running our second 3-day youth Bible camp. We had quite a few visitors this year from the local area. Our kids had a blast and made so many new Christian friends. We also wish to thank those in our congregation who providing housing and food for our visitors. Thank you all!!!
